Office Story That’s Going Viral – Part 2
He couldn’t focus anymore.
The screen in front of him blurred, the lines of text losing all meaning as his thoughts replayed the same moment again and again.
“Don’t trust anyone here.”
The message stayed in his head like an echo that refused to fade.
Who sent it?
How did they get his number?
And more importantly…
Why now?
He glanced around the office again.
Everything looked exactly the same.
Rows of employees typing.
Monitors glowing.
That same unnatural rhythm.
But now he noticed something new.
No one was checking their phones.
Not once.
Not even casually.
Not even a quick glance.
It was subtle.
But in a normal office, people checked their phones constantly.
Messages. Social media. Time.
Here…
Nothing.
It was like phones didn’t exist.

Except his.
A cold feeling ran down his spine.
He slowly picked it up again.
Opened the message.
Still there.
No additional text.
No typing indicator.
No profile picture.
Just that single warning.
“Don’t trust anyone here.”
He quickly looked toward where she had walked.
The new coworker.
But she wasn’t there anymore.
It was like she had disappeared.
He stood up slightly, trying to spot her across the office.
Nothing.
Just the same faces.
The same empty expressions.
Then—
A voice.
“Looking for someone?”
He turned immediately.
She was behind him.
Too close.
Again.
He hadn’t heard her approach.
Not even a single step.
His heart jumped.
“I—uh… no.”
She smiled.
That same calm, knowing smile.
“You’re not very good at hiding things.”
He forced a small laugh.
“Just trying to get used to everything.”
She watched him carefully.
Like she was analyzing every word.
“Most people get used to it quickly,” she said.
“…Or they stop trying.”
That last part felt heavier.
More deliberate.
“What does that mean?” he asked.
She didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she reached over his desk.
Not touching him.
But close enough that he could feel the tension again.
Then she pointed at his screen.
“You’re not working.”
He blinked.
She was right.
The document hadn’t changed in minutes.
He quickly sat down.
“Just thinking.”
She leaned slightly, her voice lowering again.
“Thinking too much can be dangerous here.”
There it was again.
Another warning.
But this time…
It didn’t feel like a joke.
It felt real.
He turned to look at her directly.
“Why are you saying things like that?”
For a brief moment…
Her expression changed.
Just slightly.
The smile faded.
Replaced by something more serious.
Almost… concerned.
But it only lasted a second.
Then the smile returned.
“You’ll understand soon.”
She stepped back.
Finally giving him space.
Then turned and walked away again.
This time slower.
As if she wanted him to watch her leave.
He didn’t move.
Didn’t speak.
Just sat there.
Trying to process everything.
Nothing made sense.
And yet…
Everything felt connected.
The message.
Her behavior.
The office.
It all pointed to something.
Something hidden.
Something he wasn’t supposed to see.
Then—
Buzz.
His phone again.
Faster this time.
More urgent.
He grabbed it instantly.
Another message.
Same unknown number.
“You talked to her.”
His breath stopped.
How?
How would they know that?
He hadn’t told anyone.
He hadn’t even left his desk.
He slowly looked up.
Scanning the room.
The employees were still working.
Still silent.
Still… unnatural.
But now…
It felt like they were watching him.
Not directly.
But indirectly.
Through reflections.
Through movements.
Through something he couldn’t quite explain.
He lowered his voice.
Whispering to himself.
“This doesn’t make sense…”
Another message came instantly.
“Nothing here is supposed to make sense.”
His hands started shaking slightly.
This wasn’t random.
Someone was observing him.
In real time.
Tracking his actions.
His interactions.
His thoughts.
And responding immediately.
He typed back.
“Who is this?”
For a second…
Nothing.
Then—
Three dots.
Typing.
He waited.
Heart pounding.
The reply came.
“Someone who made the same mistake as you.”
His throat tightened.
“What mistake?”
A pause.
Longer this time.
Then:
“Staying.”
Silence filled his mind.
He looked around again.
The office.
The people.
The structure.
Everything suddenly felt like a trap.
But if that was true…
Why hadn’t he noticed before?
Why did it only start now?
Then—
A shadow fell over his desk.
He looked up.
It was her again.
But this time…
She wasn’t smiling.
Her expression was serious.
Focused.
“You shouldn’t use your phone here,” she said quietly.
His heart skipped.
“What?”
She glanced around briefly.
Then leaned closer.
“They can see it.”
A chill ran through him.
“They?”
Before he could ask more—
A loud sound echoed through the office.
A sharp tone.
Like a system notification.
Every employee stopped typing at the exact same time.
Perfect synchronization.
Not a second off.
They all stood up.
At once.
Chairs sliding back in unison.
It was unnatural.
Terrifying.
He looked around in shock.
“What is happening…?”
She grabbed his wrist.
Firm.
Unexpected.
“Don’t react.”
Her voice was low.
Serious.
He froze.
Everyone turned.
Not toward him.
But toward the front of the office.
A large screen lit up.
It hadn’t been on before.
At least… he didn’t think it had.
Text appeared.
Simple.
Cold.
“Observation Phase: Active”
His breathing became shallow.
“What is that?” he whispered.
She didn’t answer.
Didn’t even look at him.
Her eyes were fixed on the screen.
Then—
Another line appeared.
“Subject deviation detected.”
His stomach dropped.
Subject?
Deviation?
That didn’t sound like normal office terminology.
It sounded like…
An experiment.
His phone buzzed again.
He didn’t want to check.
But he had to.
Slowly, carefully, he looked down.
A new message.
“You’re already being watched.”
His pulse spiked.
He looked up instantly.
The employees were still standing.
Still facing forward.
Still silent.
Like they were waiting.
For something.
Or someone.
Then—
The screen changed.
New text.
Bigger.
Clearer.
“Begin evaluation.”
The lights dimmed slightly.
Not completely.
Just enough to change the atmosphere.
To make everything feel… wrong.
Unreal.
He turned to her.
“What is this?”
For the first time…
She looked directly into his eyes.
No smile.
No softness.
Just intensity.
“This is the part where everything changes.”
His chest tightened.
“What do you mean?”
She took a small step back.
Creating distance.
Like she was separating herself from him.
“You’re not supposed to understand yet.”
Her voice was calm again.
Controlled.
But something had shifted.
Something important.
Then she said:
“But you will.”
She turned away.
Walking toward the others.
Blending in.
Like she had always been part of them.
Like she had never stood out at all.
He was alone again.
Standing in the middle of something he didn’t understand.
Something he couldn’t escape.
And deep down…
He knew one thing for sure:
He wasn’t just working here anymore.
He was part of something much bigger.
Something that had already started…
Without his consent.
